Emily & the iLite in New York

Christie's Photographic Solutions has offices in 5 major cities, including Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Las Vegas, and Washington, D.C., but we also provide photography services to clients in various cities across America.  Just recently, Christie's provided iLite photography services to a client in New York City, and Emily was sent from the Orlando office to cover the events.  Below, she provided some insight into her work travel experience.

When I was asked about my interest in traveling to New York City with the iLite to photograph some events, my answer was of course an immediate "Yes!" Working with the iLite is not just work, it's fun, and event attendees are always so excited when they realize they can instantly have their pictures emailed rather than waiting for delivery a few days later.

I absolutely love traveling.  I love visiting new locations in my home state of Florida, because I get to learn of new restaurants, shops, and landmarks, all while seeing some more of the beautiful landscape Florida has to offer.  Experiencing new cities that are further away are thrilling--I get everything I already mentioned and then a new geography to see as well.  Mountains, rocky beaches, stores that are local to that area...all of these make travel more than just visiting somewhere new.  I get to see daily life from someone else's perspective.  And since I'm a foodie, I'm always stoked to try a new restaurant or local dish.
At the National History Museum

It was a beautiful time to visit the city, with temperatures in the 70's during my trip.  This meant that walking was the greatest mode of transportation, as I stayed close to the event venues I worked at.  My first evening in the city was also my first iLite event. On my walk to the venue, I stopped at a local pizzeria to grab a bite and keep me going through the night.  Then I made my way a few more blocks and met up with my onsite contact to prepare for shooting my first event.

The iLite event was so much fun, as all of the event attendees were excited to have their photos taken with a great backdrop that featured a view of the cityscape.  I love being a part of everyone's glee when they look at their picture and love how it came out - the iLite really does take high quality photos that a cell phone just doesn't capture.

The other event I worked with the iLite stirred up just as much excitement - I worked with some people from the same group I had at the first event, who were all glad to see the camera return so they could share their event photos with friends and family right away.

Central Park

I spent the rest of my free time between work venturing around the city, doing a few touristy activities like attending a TV show taping and visiting stores in Times Square, but also took time to ride the Subway down to Chinatown and Little Italy.  I took some time to stroll through Central Park and capture a few personal photos, packing in as much time exploring as I could.  New York City is a fantastic place, and I met some incredibly friendly people while taking it all in.  This trip was an utterly wonderful experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  Thanks for the opportunity, Christie's.
